Scents has a direct impact on mental health as it has effect on memory recall, emotions and hormone balance. Aromatherapy works by delivering molecules from essential oils directly to the limbic system of the brain through the olfactory (smell) system. The limbic system is considered the emotional center of the brain and communicates with the nervous system to affect things such as heart-rate and hormone secretion. With the combination essential oil, yoga and simple exercise movements, participants will be equipped with information on how to use these alternative sources to cope with their emotions and daily activities.
